A real opportunity for Edinburgh to train the sports people of the future.
The key to achieving this objective will be the promotion of further sporting activity. We believe there is an opportunity to create a regional sports hub within the Garden District.
Not only can this accommodate a centre of excellence which could complement existing adjacent facilities, but it will also address the more general sporting needs in the region.
There is the potential to include a new stadium in the plans to serve the city region. We anticipate the facility could seat 25,000 people and host a number of prestigious events. A stadium in this location would provide direct connections to over 90% of the population within a 90 minute journey time.
The concept to include a stadium within the Edinburgh Garden District is in its formative stages and Murray Estates is keen to discuss the matter in greater detail with the Council and other potential partners.
